Question Asked: Who Was The First Superhero?
|
Jul 9th, 2009 |
To answer this, we need to define what a “superhero” is. A superhero, in the context we think about it, is someone who fights crime in disguise. We can all agree on that, right?
Since that’s the case, many people believe that Superman was the first superhero. That’s not the case.
Four years before Superman was first created, another comic (which has since faded into obscurity) was created, he was called Mandrake the Magician. According to some information I found, his “super powers” weren’t really super powers, he was just a guy who used magic and “illusions” to fight crime. Pretty lame.
