Question Asked: What Is The Most Expensive Dessert In The World?
Great question. I’ve never really thought about it, so let’s see what Google has to say.
According to Reuter’s, recently Serendipity III in New York City set a world record for the most expensive dessert in the world, at a whopping $25,000 US.
Stephen Bruce, owner of Serendipity 3, partnered with luxury jeweler Euphoria New York to create the “Frrozen Haute Chocolate,” a blend of 28 cocoas, including 14 of the most expensive and exotic from around the globe.
The dessert, spelled with two Rs, is infused with 5 grams (0.2 ounces) of edible 23-karat gold and served in a goblet lined with edible gold. At the base of the goblet is an 18-karat gold bracelet with 1 carat of white diamonds.
The sundae is topped with whipped cream covered with more gold and a side of La Madeline au Truffle from Knipschildt Chocolatier, which sells for $2,600 a pound.
It is eaten with a gold spoon decorated with white and chocolate-colored diamonds, which can also be taken home.
I’ve been to that restaurant, and had their regular Frozen Hot Chocolate, which is great. Be prepared, if you want to eat there, call ahead, and get there early. Wait times can literally be six hours. And yes, it’s the restaurante that John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale go to in the movie Serendipity.
Question Asked: What is the Most Expensive Guitar in the World?
Great question. As a musician, I found it interesting to do some research about this.
Before doing any research, I’m guessing it’s one of the Paul Reed Smith line. I know, for a fact, that the original “Dragon” by Paul Reed Smith (limited edition of 250) runs about $25,000
Now, let’s do some research and see what we can find;
Right off the bat, we learn about a guitar that was signed by famous people and auctioned off for charity. (Signees include: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Brian May, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Pete Townsend, Mark Knopfler, Ray Davis, Liam Gallagher, Ronnie Wood, Tony Iommi, Angus & Malcolm Young, Paul McCartney, Sting, Ritchie Blackmore, Def Leppard, and Bryan Adams.) It was bought by the royal Qatar family for $1 million, then donated to charity. The second auction netted $2.7 million.
I don’t think that counts though, because it’s a rare item, and has signatures on it (ruining it, if you ask me)
“Blackie” - one of Eric Clapton’s guitars, sold for $950, 000 a while back. But, if it wasn’t Eric Clapton’s, what would it have been worth? Not almost a million bucks, that’s for sure.
According to Musician’s Friend, the most expensive guitar they sell (right now), is a Paul Reed Smith Custom 10th Anniversary Private Stock Electric Guitar with Tremolo, for $16,100
GuitarCenter lists the same guitar, for the same price. As does Music123.
SamAsh has the G6120SSC Limited Edition Brian Setzer Hollow Body Electric Guitar for $25,000, which I won’t count, because it’s a limited edition with someone’s name on it. (Seriously, Brian Setzer can fetch 25 grand for a guitar? One hit wonder and all?)
What I found astonishing is this: Fender Masterbuilt Crash Stratocaster Electric Guitar and Pro Jr. Amp Set It looks like a toy. Actual cost of the guitar and amp is probably around $1,000. But because some “artist” defaced it and splashed some paint on it, it’s selling for $25,000? That’s an insult to people, and music, and guitars. I’m offended just seeing it.
To sum up, the most expensive guitar I could find for sale via a regular retail outlet store, was the Paul Reed Smith Custom 10th Anniversary Private Stock Electric Guitar with Tremolo for $16,100.
The “Dragon” I mentioned earlier, can be see here #184 on the page. It’s not technically for sale, but if you look hard enough, sometimes they pop up on eBay for a hundred grand or so.
Hope that answers your question, I certainly had fun looking up the information.
Question Asked: What is the Most Expensive Wedding to Ever Take Place?
According to this website with a really long, interesting domain name, it was Amit Bhatia, and Vanisha Mittal in June of 2004.
Estimated cost of their wedding was $60 million (US Dollars), and it lasted for 6 full days.
Side note: Mittal’s father, also holds the record for owning the most expensive house in the world, which cost roughly $130 million (US Dollars) back in 2004.
Looks like ‘04 was a pretty good financial year for the Mittal family.
