Question Asked: Is Ghostbusters III Really Being Made?
|
Jul 1st, 2009 |
According to a variety of movie websites, including IMdB, yes.
Ghostbusters III (which doesn’t have a catchy sequelesque title, yet) is set to be released sometime in 2012.
As of now, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Dan Akyroyd, and Ernie Hudson have signed on. Sigourney Weaver is listed as being involved, on IMdB, but has publicly stated that she’ll not be in the movie.
There’s no talk yet of what the movie will be about, officially. However, there are rumors that it will be the “old guys” shepherding in the “new guys” to take their places. It’s possible that the original Ghostbusters will have children who’ll be taking their places.
It’ll be pretty amazing to see what they can do with CGI now, compared to the original two movies, which are over 20 years old. The special effects back then were pretty impressive, for their time (a giant marshmellow man, walking Statue of Liberty, flying ghosts? Pretty cool), so it’ll be fun to see what they come up with “these days.”
